Equipment

  • 1 Toasted bread or grill pan
  • 1 Frying pan or oven for cooking bacon
  • 1 Knife (for slicing vegetables and sandwich)
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Spread knife (for mayo)

Materials

  • 6 slices Bread white, whole wheat, or multigrain
  • 8 oz Turkey breast sliced
  • 6 strips Bacon crispy
  • 1 Tomato sliced
  • 1 cup Lettuce romaine or iceberg
  • ¼ cup Mayonnaise or flavored mayo like garlic or chipotle
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Toast the Bread:

  • Toast the slices of bread until golden brown and crispy, using either a toaster or a skillet.

Cook the Bacon:

  • Fry the bacon in a pan until crispy, then drain on a paper towel to remove excess grease.

Prepare the Vegetables:

  • Slice the tomato into thick slices and wash the lettuce leaves.

Assemble the Sandwich:

  • Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on one side of each toasted bread slice.
  • Layer turkey slices on one slice of bread, followed by crispy bacon, tomato slices, and lettuce.
  • Top with another slice of toasted bread, mayo side down, to complete the sandwich.

Finish and Serve:

  • Cut the sandwich in half diagonally for a neat presentation.
Serve immediately with a side of chips or pickles.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute turkey bacon for regular bacon and use low-fat mayo or a Greek yogurt spread.
  • To add more flavor, try adding a slice of cheese (cheddar or Swiss) to the sandwich.
  • You can also customize the sandwich by adding ingredients like avocado, mustard, or pickles for extra flavor.
