  • Spoon - 1 (for scooping out avocado)
  • Measuring Spoons (1 set)
  • Large plate or flat surface (for assembling the wrap) - 1

Ingredients

  • Sliced turkey breast - 6 ounces 170 grams
  • Ripe avocado - 1 medium-sized
  • Whole wheat or spinach tortilla wrap - 2 8-inch size
  • Fresh vegetables lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers - 1 cup (chopped)
  • Low-fat mayonnaise or Greek yogurt optional - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice or balsamic glaze optional - 1 teaspoon

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Avocado

  • Slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh with a spoon. Mash the avocado in a small bowl until smooth, or slice it into thin pieces. Add a squeeze of lemon juice to prevent browning.

Step 2: Assemble the Wrap

  • Place the tortilla on a flat surface. Spread the mashed avocado evenly in the center of the tortilla. Layer the sliced turkey on top of the avocado.

Step 3: Add Vegetables

  • Top the turkey with your choice of fresh vegetables such as lettuce, tomato, and cucumber.
Feel free to add any other veggies you enjoy.

Step 4: Season the Wrap

  • Sprinkle salt and pepper over the fillings. Add a dollop of mayonnaise or Greek yogurt for creaminess, if desired.
Drizzle a little lemon juice or balsamic glaze for an extra burst of flavor.

Step 5: Wrap It Up

  • Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll it up tightly from one end to the other.
Slice the wrap diagonally for easy serving.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy

  • Serve immediately, or wrap the Turkey Avocado Wrap in parchment paper for a portable meal on the go.

Notes

  • Customizations: Feel free to swap out the turkey for grilled chicken, tofu, or hummus for a vegetarian option.
  • Tortilla Options: You can use whole wheat, spinach, or even a low-carb tortilla for a lighter option.
  • Freshness: To keep the avocado from browning, add a squeeze of lemon juice, especially if you're preparing the wraps in advance.
  • Meal Prep: If meal prepping, store the wraps in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. It’s best to add avocado just before serving to keep it fresh.
