Equipment

  • 1 medium bowl
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Sharp Knife
  • 1 mixing spoon
  • 1 fine-mesh strainer (for draining tuna)

Ingredients

For the Tuna Salad

  • 2 5-ounce cans of tuna (drained)
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 celery stalk finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons red onion finely diced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill or parsley chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

For the Wraps

  • 8 large lettuce leaves romaine, butter lettuce, or iceberg

Instructions

Prepare the Tuna Salad

  • Drain the canned tuna thoroughly using a fine-mesh strainer to remove excess liquid.
  • Transfer the tuna to a medium bowl and break it up into smaller chunks using a fork.
  • Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, celery, red onion, lemon juice, fresh dill or parsley, salt, and pepper.
    Mix until well combined.

Prepare the Lettuce Leaves

  • Wash the lettuce leaves gently under cold water and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
Ensure the leaves remain intact and are large enough to hold the tuna salad.

Assemble the Wraps

  • Lay a lettuce leaf flat on a clean surface.
  • Spoon about 2–3 tablespoons of tuna salad onto the center of the leaf.
  • Carefully fold the edges of the lettuce leaf around the filling to create a wrap or taco shape.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Arrange the wraps on a serving plate. Optionally, garnish with additional fresh herbs or serve with lemon wedges on the side. Enjoy immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • If preparing ahead, store the tuna salad in the fridge for up to 3 days and assemble the wraps just before serving.
  • For a dairy-free option, substitute mayonnaise with mashed avocado.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste. Add more lemon juice or herbs for extra brightness.
  • Double up the lettuce leaves for sturdier wraps, especially if using softer varieties like butter lettuce.
