Equipment

  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Fork or Spoon (for mixing)
  • 1 Knife (for slicing cucumbers)
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Measuring Spoon Set

Ingredients

For the Tuna Mixture:

  • 1 can 5 oz tuna, drained
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise or Greek yogurt for a lighter option
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp red onion finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp celery finely chopped
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For Assembly:

  • 1 large cucumber sliced into ¼-inch rounds
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley or chives chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds optional, for extra crunch

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Tuna Mixture

  • In a mixing bowl, combine drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, red onion, celery, garlic powder, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
    Mix well until evenly combined.

Step 2: Slice the Cucumbers

  • Wash and slice the cucumber into ¼-inch thick rounds.
Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

Step 3: Assemble the Bites

  • Spoon a small portion of the tuna mixture onto each cucumber slice, spreading it evenly.

Step 4: Garnish and Serve

  • Sprinkle chopped parsley or chives on top for a fresh touch. Optionally, add a pinch of sesame seeds for extra texture.

Step 5: Enjoy!

  • Serve immediately, or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes before serving to enhance the flavors.

Notes

  • Make Ahead Tip: Prepare the tuna mixture up to 3 days in advance and store it in the fridge. Assemble fresh when ready to serve.
  • Customization Options: Swap mayo with avocado mash for a dairy-free option, or add sriracha for a spicy kick.
  • Serving Suggestion: Pair with a side of keto crackers or a dipping sauce like garlic aioli or tzatziki.
  • Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
