Equipment

  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 Wooden spoon
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 8-10 leaves Iceberg or butter lettuce (for wrapping)
  • 1 cup Shredded carrots (optional)
  • ½ cup Fresh cilantro (optional)
  • 1, Lime for garnish, optional

Instructions

Cook the Ground Turkey:

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the ground turkey and cook until browned and no longer pink, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Drain any excess fat.

Season the Turkey:

  • Sprinkle chili powder, paprika, cumin, and garlic powder over the cooked turkey.
Stir the mixture well to coat the turkey evenly with the spices.
Let it cook for 2-3 more minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Prepare the Lettuce Leaves:

  • While the turkey is cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Separate the leaves carefully and choose the largest, most intact ones for wrapping.

Assemble the Wraps:

  • Spoon the spicy turkey mixture into the center of each lettuce leaf.
Add any optional toppings like shredded carrots, fresh cilantro, or a squeeze of lime.

Serve and Enjoy:

  • Fold the lettuce around the turkey to create a wrap and serve immediately.
Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce or side dish.

Notes

Recipe Notes:

  • Make Ahead: You can prepare the turkey filling in advance and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days. Just reheat before assembling the wraps.
  • Adjust Spice Level: Feel free to add more chili powder or hot sauce if you prefer more heat. Alternatively, reduce the spices for a milder flavor.
  • Vegetarian Option: For a vegetarian version, swap the ground turkey with plant-based ground meat or beans.
  • Toppings: Customize your wraps with extra toppings such as avocado, shredded cheese, or a drizzle of yogurt for added richness.
