  • 1 Saucepan
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Ladle
  • 1 Parchment Paper (optional)

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 2 ½ cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 packet 2 ¼ tsp Active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup Warm water
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil

For the Sauce:

  • 1 cup Canned San Marzano tomatoes
  • 1 clove Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ¼ tsp Dried oregano

For the Toppings:

  • 8 oz Fresh mozzarella sliced
  • 6 –8 Fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

Prepare the Dough

  • In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–7 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1–1.5 hours or until doubled in size.

Make the Sauce

  • Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in canned tomatoes, salt, and oregano.
Simmer for 10 minutes, then blend to a smooth consistency.

Assemble the Pizza

  • Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone inside (or use a baking sheet).
  • Roll out the dough into a 12-inch circle on parchment paper or a floured surface.
  • Spread the prepared tomato sauce evenly over the dough using a ladle.
  • Arrange mozzarella slices on top, leaving some space between each slice.

Bake the Pizza

  • Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated stone or baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

Add Fresh Basil

  • Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately add fresh basil leaves on top.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use San Marzano tomatoes for the most authentic and flavorful sauce.
  • For extra crispiness, preheat the pizza stone for at least 30 minutes before baking.
  • If fresh basil isn’t available, sprinkle dried basil sparingly after baking.
  • For a gluten-free option, substitute the dough with a gluten-free pizza base.
  • Adjust toppings to your liking but keep it light for the best results.
