Ingredients
  

For the Beef Mixture:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ cup diced bell peppers optional
  • ½ cup sliced mushrooms optional

For the Creamy Cheese Mixture:

  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

For the Topping:

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

Step 1: Cook the Beef Mixture

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
    Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  • Add the chopped onion, garlic, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and smoked paprika. Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  • If using, add the diced bell peppers and mushrooms.
    Cook for another 3-4 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Step 2: Prepare the Cheese Mixture

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cream cheese, sour cream, heavy cream, and eggs until smooth.
  • Stir in 1 cup cheddar cheese and ½ cup mozzarella cheese. Mix until combined.

Step 3: Assemble the Casserole

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly into the dish.
  • Pour the cheese mixture over the beef and spread it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese on top.

Step 4: Bake the Casserole

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Make It Spicier: Add ½ tsp red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños for a little heat.
  • Dairy-Free Option: Use coconut cream instead of heavy cream and a dairy-free cheese substitute.
