  • 1 small Avocado sliced
  • 2 Cherry tomatoes sliced
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil extra virgin
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds optional

Instructions

Toast the Bread

  • Begin by toasting two slices of your preferred bread until golden brown and crispy, using a toaster or pan.

Spread the Hummus

  • Once the bread is toasted, spread a generous layer of hummus on each slice.
Use a butter knife or spoon to smooth it evenly across the surface.

Add Toppings

  • Layer sliced avocado and cherry tomatoes on top of the hummus-covered bread.

Season the Toast

  • Drizzle a little extra virgin olive oil over the toppings, then sprinkle with sesame seeds, salt, and pepper to taste.
Optionally, add a squeeze of lemon juice for extra freshness.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Slice the hummus toast into halves or quarters for easy serving.
Enjoy immediately for the best crunch and flavor!

Notes

  • Bread Options: Feel free to choose your favorite bread—sourdough, whole grain, rye, or gluten-free all work wonderfully. The key is to toast it until crispy without burning.
  • Toppings: You can customize your hummus toast with a variety of toppings such as roasted vegetables, eggs, or herbs. For a sweet twist, add fruit like figs or strawberries with a drizzle of honey.
  • Make-Ahead: While the bread and hummus can be prepared ahead of time, it’s best to assemble the toast just before serving to keep the bread crisp.
  • Hummus Flavor: Experiment with different flavors of hummus such as garlic, roasted red pepper, or spicy varieties to change things up.
