1/4cupwaterfor taco seasoning
8soft flour tortillasor 8 crispy corn taco shells
1cupshredded lettuce
1cupdiced tomatoes
1/2cupshredded cheesecheddar or Mexican blend
1/4cupsour cream
1/4cupsalsa
1avocadosliced (optional)
2tablespoonsfresh cilantrochopped (optional)
1limecut into wedges
Instructions
Cook the Ground Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 7-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Season the Beef: Add the taco seasoning and water (according to the seasoning packet instructions) to the beef.Stir well to combine and simmer for 3-4 minutes until the seasoning is absorbed and the beef is evenly coated.
Prepare the Tortillas: While the beef is cooking, warm the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side, or heat the taco shells according to package instructions.
Assemble the Tacos: Place a spoonful of the seasoned beef into each tortilla or taco shell. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, salsa, and sliced avocado.
Serve: Garnish with fresh cilantro and lime wedges. Serve immediately.
Notes
Taco Seasoning: For a homemade seasoning, combine chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Adjust according to taste.
Vegetarian Option: You can substitute ground beef with black beans or lentils for a vegetarian version of the tacos.
Extra Toppings: Feel free to add jalapeños, olives, or other vegetables to customize the tacos further.
